Sullane 1 – 4 Bunratty 5th October 2003 Sullane’s slump continued on Sunday 5th October last when they suffered yet another heavy home defeat at the hands of Bunratty. Things started to go wrong as early as the first minute when a keeper’s error allowed Bunratty in for the opening score. The locals held their own until the 40th minute when the visitors were awarded a free on the edge of the area. The defenders failed to deal adequately with it and the ball was forced home from a scrum of players to put Bunratty 2 up at the break. Sullane came into the game more in the second half but never looked like threatening. With 5 minutes remaining the tie was decided when 2 defensive errors in a minute allowed the visitors to billow the Sullane net twice more before Conor Hoare found the net from close range when Robert O’Riordan threaded the ball through an otherwise tight Bunratty defence.
